FAQ - Tips

**You will want to check the Spells section to see which spell each character can cast, also check the weapons, helmets, armor, and shields sections to see exactly which can be equipped on each character**

HP: The amount of max HP that the class gets. MP: The amount of max MP that the class gets.
STR: The measure of Strength. AGI: The measure of Agility.
LUCK: The measure of Luck. ATK: Indicates how high of an Attack Power this class gets (includes available weapons).
VIT: The measure of Vitality. DEF: Indicates how high of a Defensive Power this class gets (natural defense AND wearable armor).

Hero
HP: Excellent MP: Very Good
STRENGTH: Excellent AGILITY: Average
LUCK: Average ATTACK POWER: Excellent
VITALITY: High DEFENSE POWER: Excellent
The Hero is growing up while you play Chapters 1 through 4, you take over as him in Chapter 5. He eventually meets up with all of the characters from the previous 4 chapters and they join his party to search for Necrosaro. The Hero will learn the very handy Outside and Return spell, and just like Dragon Warrior 3 is a master of healing spells. He knowsThe Hero has a good amount of MP, excellent HP, and is very strong. He can wear all of the best armor in the game. The Zenithian weapons are to be used for him.

Ragnar
HP: Excellent MP: None
STRENGTH: Excellent AGILITY: Average
LUCK: Average ATTACK POWER: Excellent
VITALITY: Average DEFENSE POWER: Excellent
Ragnar, the hero of Chapter 1, is the last member to join your party from the previous chapters. Ragnar is stronger than the Hero, and can use most of the weapons and armor the Hero can. Ragnar has no magic ability, but it is good to carry along someone strong like him or Alena in your 4 man fighting rotation.

Alena
HP: Excellent MP: None
STRENGTH: Excellent AGILITY: Average
LUCK: Very Good ATTACK POWER: Excellent
VITALITY: Very Good DEFENSE POWER: Excellent
Alena joins your party in Chapter 5 after you already have Taloon, Nara, Mara, and Brey. Alena is a great addition and will probably stay in your 4 man fighting rotation the entire time. Like all of the females, Alena has limted armor and weapons that she can use. The Iron Claw and Fire Claw are the 2 weapons she will have most of Chapter 5. There are no shields in the game that she can use, but she still has great defense power. You may want to put the Dress of Radiance on her when you find it near the end of the game. Her attack power will be the best of your party. Alena knows no magic, but makes up for it with her strength.

Nara
HP: Average MP: Very Good
STRENGTH: Average AGILITY: Average
LUCK: Average ATTACK POWER: Very Good
VITALITY: Average DEFENSE POWER: Poor
Nara has decent attack power, will get a great amount of MP, but does not have good defense power. She may lose a lot of HP fast in battle. She knows some good spells, but when Cristo levels up you may want to use him instead because Nara does not know the Revive spell. Nara is good on healing spells, and has a few decent attack spells, but not as good as her sister Mara. Nara also is the only party member who knows the numboff spell. She has a limited amount of weapons and armor she can use. The Leather Shield is the only shield she can use.

Mara
HP: Average MP: Excellent
STRENGTH: Poor AGILITY: Average
LUCK: Very Good ATTACK POWER: Poor
VITALITY: Very Good DEFENSE POWER: Average
At first Mara is the weaker of the sisters, however as you progress in Chapter 5 she begins to stand out as the better of the two. Mara can use most of the same weapons and armor as her sister Nara. Mara has poor attack power, but makes up for that with her vast amount of excellent fighting spells. She has the spell of BeDragon, which is very useful against the strongest enemies. Mara is someone you want to keep in your 4 man fighting rotation at all times.

Cristo
HP: Average MP: Excellent
STRENGTH: Very Good AGILITY: Very Good
LUCK: Average ATTACK POWER: Very Good
VITALITY: Average DEFENSE POWER: Very Good
Cristo is someone you want as part of your 4 man fighting team once he starts leveling up. He is the only member of the party that knows the Revive and Antidote spells. Both are very important when you are trapped in certain caves that do not allow use of the Outside spell. Cristo's strength, attack power, and defense power are better than Nara. He also knows all of the heal spells that she uses as well. Cristo has an average amount of weapons and armor he can use. You may want to equip him with some of the Metal Babble gear, which really improves him.

Brey
HP: Good MP: Very Good
STRENGTH: Poor AGILITY: Average
LUCK: Poor ATTACK POWER: Poor
VITALITY: Average DEFENSE POWER: Poor
Brey will probably be in your regular rotation very briefly. Once you get Alena in you may want to keep him on the bench (i.e. in the wagon). Brey is very weak, so when used in battle you will want to use attack spells. He knows a few spells Mara does not, but overall she is still a much better warrior. Brey is the only member who knows the X-Ray and Day-Night spells, which are useful. He has a very limited amount of weapons and armor to wear. Overall Brey is an average member of your fighting team, but makes an excellent backup.

Taloon
HP: Very Good MP: None
STRENGTH: Excellent AGILITY: Poor
LUCK: Very Good ATTACK POWER: Excellent
VITALITY: Very Good DEFENSE POWER: Excellent
Taloon is someone you may want to use only until you start acquiring more party members. Even if you use the Game Genie Code to disable the auto-fight, he still will occasionally do odd things in battle. Sometimes his tactics are effective, as he may call a merchant army who come in and help with your attack. Other times he just makes the enemy laugh, or just get angry. Taloon also has a very limited amount of weapons and armor he can use. He is still great to keep in the wagon because he can appraise any item, and tell you which weapons and armor can be equipped for which members of your party.
