Grass

You can walk anywhere on the grass, and there are not as many enemies.

Trees

A lot of enemies lurk throughout the forests, be prepared.

Hills

Hills are scattered throughout Alefgard, and they do not carry as many enemies as trees.

Mountains

You cannot pass through the mountains.

Water

Like the mountains, you cannot cross any water. Look for bridges instead.

Swamps

The poisonous marsh will take away 2 hit points per movement through them. Only the Magic Armor and Erdrick's Armor allow you to move carefree through them. They also contain enemies.

Barriers

Barriers are much worse than swamps. They take away 15 hit points per move. Like the swamps, you are safe to walk through barriers while wearing either the Magic or Erdrick's Armor.

Bridges

When you cross bridges, the monsters on the other side are far more deadlier.

Caves

Only the brave at heart dare enter a cave, Make sure you bring a torch because they are pitch black. Many enemies lurk deep inside of caves, but the risk if worth the reward of the treasure you may discover.

Castles

There are only 2 castles in the world of Alefgard, one is Tantegel, and the other is the evil Charlock Castle.

Towns

There are many towns throughout Alefgard, all are safe to enter and provide Inns to rest, as well as weapon and item shops. Hauksness is the only town that has been overtaken by the Dragonlord.

Inns

Inns are located in each town and are a necessity. When you stay overnight at an Inn, it restores your HP and MP to their max. The further away from Tantegel you travel, the more expensive the Inn.

Weapon Shops

The shield represents a weapon shop. There you can upgrade your weapons, shields, and armor throughout each town you travel.

Shop Counters

Go straight to the shop counters to talk to merchants or innkeepers.

Doors

You can open doors with the door command, however some are locked and require a key.

Roof

All houses that are covered in a roof have an entrance, but some of them you must search hard for.

Stairs

Use the stair command to go up them.

Descending Stairs

Use the stair command to go down the descending stairs.
